Pausing tracking & idle detection

Pause on demand, the keyboard shortcut, and automatic idle pausing.

You can pause recording yourself, or let Timeglass pause after idle time. It resumes when you come back.

Pause on demand

From the menu bar, choose Pause, then a duration: for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, the rest of today, or until you turn it back on. It shows Resume while paused.

Keyboard shortcut

Set a global pause and resume shortcut in Settings when you want to toggle recording without opening the menu.

Automatic idle pause

After about five minutes with no keyboard or mouse activity, Timeglass pauses on its own (the threshold is adjustable). Idle pausing is suppressed during an active meeting.

Sleep, wake, and lock

Capture stops when your Mac sleeps or locks, and resumes when you wake or sign back in. If capture stalls after waking, Timeglass restarts the loop.
