Getting started

Your Home page

Logged time, the day’s timeline, manual activities, and your day in review.

Home shows your day as it happens: how much time is logged, where it went, and anything you need to review. The desktop app’s Home shows the same timeline and breakdown.

Logged time

The large clock at the top shows Logged today, or the logged time for the day you picked. It includes time Timeglass is still processing and any activities you added by hand. The clock is hidden while Home shows a review prompt or desktop setup instead.

The day’s timeline

The timeline shows your day as colored slices, one color per activity category, with meetings marked along it. Hover a slice to see the activities inside it. Zoom in to look at a busy hour more closely. Time still being analyzed appears as processing until it is ready.

Where your time went

Below the timeline, Home breaks the day down by Categories. Once the day’s timesheet has been prepared, you can switch to Projects.

Add work you did away from the computer

Beside Worked away from your computer today? (or Worked away from your computer? for an earlier day, and always in the desktop app), select Add activity. Describe the work in plain words, such as “Site visit with Acme’s facilities team, 1h 30m.” Timeglass picks up the duration you mention and suggests a client, project, and category. Change any of them, then select Add activity.

Once you add one, your entries are listed under Manually entered activities, where you can edit or remove them. They count toward the day’s total and appear on your timesheet. If you don’t see Add activity, manual entry is turned off for your workspace.

Your day in review

Once Timeglass has summarized your day, a written recap appears under Your day in review. It is generated from your own activity.

Common questions

How do I add time I spent away from my computer?

On Home, select Add activity beside “Worked away from your computer today?”, describe the work, and select Add activity. In Power Review, use Add Untracked Activity.

Why is Logged today higher than my timesheet total?

Logged today also counts time that is still processing. Your timesheet total catches up once that recent time is prepared into activities.

What is “Your day in review”?

A written recap of your day that Timeglass generates from your own activity. It appears at the bottom of Home once it is ready.
