Exports

Run an export

Payroll, project hours, or work activity, as CSV, PDF, or XLSX.

Exports turn approved time into files for payroll, invoices, spreadsheets, or internal reporting. Managers and admins run them from the Exports page.

The three export types

  • Payroll: total hours per person, ready to run.
  • Project hours: hours broken down by project and person.
  • Work activity: activity details by person and project.

Run an export

  1. Open Exports
Go to Exports and, if needed, filter by type or team.
  2. Pick a date range
Choose a preset (This Week, Last 2 Weeks, Last Month), or set a custom range. Ranges snap to full weeks.
  3. Choose a format
Export as CSV, PDF, or XLSX.
  4. Run and download
The export processes in the background. When it flips to Ready to download, download the file. You can also rename, re-run, or clear it later.

Check coverage first

Before you export, the Coverage panel shows how much time in the range is ready to export, awaiting approval, or unsubmitted, and lets you nudge anyone still holding things up. See Export coverage for the full workflow.

Common questions

Which export do I use for payroll?

The Payroll export gives hours per person, ready to hand to your payroll tool.

Can I export straight into QuickBooks or Gusto?

Timeglass produces payroll- and billing-ready files (and an API) that you import into those tools. There’s no per-vendor connector to configure.
